AERODINA CLUB
association of owners, enthusiasts and pilots of historical aircraft
In 2005 a new organisation was created which, for the first time in Italy, set out with the main objective to increase the value and importance of vintage aircraft.
After its creation, Aerodina Club became a member of ‘Automotoclub Storico Italiano’ (ASI, the federation of associations passionate about historical cars, motorcycles, boats and vehicles in general), becoming the benchmark association for vintage aircraft.
The first result was to be “officially entitled” to prepare the necessary papers for the certificates of identification, approvals, and guarantees of date and historical authenticity.
Currently, the association has around fifty members, representing almost all of the key pilots and collectors of historical aircraft in Italy.
Altogether, the members’ fleet is made up of around eighty aircraft, belonging to the six official categories recognised by the Federation Internationale Vehicules Anciens
(Ancestres, Veterans, Vintage, Post Vintage, Classic and Modern) and all being at least 25 years old.
The association is gradually expanding throughout all of Italy and has already organised three aeronautical gatherings.
Aerodina Club also became a member of ‘Aero Club d’Italia’, which granted it the honourable commendation of “Club Benemerito”.
This initiated a series of meetings with the national aeronatical authorities, and an examination of the various technical problems typical of historical aircraft.
